Our family favorite, FUNNEL CAKE! So easy and a real crowd pleaser!
1 cup flour
3/4 cups milk
1 tsp baking powder
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
pinch of salt
powdered sugar
plastic funnel
mini strainer or sifter
Combine all the ingredients in a pitcher.
It should be a little runnier than pancake batter.
Heat a medium fry pan with oil (on med-high heat)
When the oil has reached a sufficient heat, pour the
batter in the hot oil in a swirling, criscross pattern.
The cake will float. Just like pancakes, you will
need to flip it when it is golden brown on one side.
When the other side is golden brown, remove with a spatula
and place on a paper towel lined plate... dust with a
heaping helping of powdered sugar (this is not the time
to be dainty, ladies!)
