Card-fest!

So I had my 2 favorite scrappers come over last night to 'play' with me! Amanda set out to make cards and inspired me to break out of my shell and make some cards too! I am not a great card maker so it was nice leaving my comfort zone for the evening :) I am actually pretty pleased with my final product (thanks to Amanda and her fancy Fisker punches!)

Teacher cards, who can't use more teacher cards!?!?!?I bought this lilac Sizzix for $3 at the HSN employee store (what a deal!) I just had to fiddle with it! The border punch is the Martha Stewart punch I borrowed from Amanda. This is the card I made for my Secret Betty partner, Dena... she loves strawberries!Playing with my Cosmo Cricket scraps and Bazzill card stock!

Keep an eye out, you never know when one of these beauties will arrive in your mailbox!!! TFL! Rachel

Key Lime Pie Recipe Cards (recipe included!)

Here are the Key Lime Pie recipe cards I made for the Secret Betty 4 swap http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/mb.asp?cmd=display&thread_id=2750422 created and hosted by THE fabulous Marla over @ 2Peas. The theme this go round is State Recipes. No surprise, I am a Florida girl so I chose Key Lime Pie- a family favorite!!!!

The cards are required to be spring colors and have PP and at least 2 embellies on them... I think I covered the requirements as stated!!!!

Here is the recipe :

INGREDIENTS
5 egg yolks, beaten
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup key lime juice
1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Combine the egg yolks, sweetened condensed milk and lime juice. Mix well. Pour into unbaked graham cracker shell.
Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Allow to cool. Top with whipped topping and garnish with lime slices if desired.

Cupcake embellies for Whimsy Jar (no peeking Rhonda!) and Valentine Project

These sweet little cupcakey goodies are for my Cupcake Whimsy Jar for Rhonda! I used my INKADOO cupcake stamp set, colored card stock scraps, Stickles, scalloped punch and circle punch.
I forgot to post this fun little matchbook I made for Valentine's Day (don't worry, I also forgot to give it to my hubby!). I just cut a 2 inch by 5 inch strip of CS and punched on end with my Fiskers Threading Water punch. Then I glued a pretty Love Elsie PP scrap on the inside and attached my 'matches' with a little glue and 2 staples. I adorned the front with a K&Co Valentine dies and my Marvy scalloped square punch.
As I was putting this together, this corny little saying popped into my head (no I am not too iriginal but it is cute!) and cut it into 'match sticks'! TFL!

Halloween catch-up projects!

SO I finally dusted off my Halloween photographs! I also finally used my Cosmo Cricket Jack black mini chipboard album that I was hording. I used the the Making Memories Spellbound kit and the white foam Thickers that I got from my Secret Goblin pal, Peggy (aka Pegsters)

Photos from Trick -or- Treat, Zach's class Halloween party ad Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studio (Wonderland was so freakin' SCARY!)
I ALWAYS stage my kids in their holiday shirts for photos (not something I plan on but I always end up doing it... call me a creature of habit!)
This lo also used with the MM Spellbound Kit from Peggy and American Crafts rub-ons (I *H*A*T*E* rub-ons!), American Crafts alpha stickers, Bazzil black cs and Martha Stewart vintage pumpkin sticker. I also ALWAYS make a lo for Halloween referring to my kids as punkins!
TFL!

St Patty's Day Mini Album

I love making handcut mini albums for holiday! It gives me a reason to use the chipboard that backs the PP stacks and I can add ALL the photos from a certain occasion without having to commit to one or two that would fit on a traditional layout.
The photos are from 2007 but I made this last St Patty's Day in 2008.
I used alot of Reminisce PP and stickers as well as Shamrock buttons I found in the notion section of the craft store.
I am not so good with rub-ons but these letters seemed to turn out ok for me for once!

Gotta love creative props... Nick is posing with a St Patty's dish towel!
I love green so I have tons of ribbon and fiber to decorate the binder rings with ;)

I made the cover with acrylic to show off the awesome glittery PP, I used rub-ons and the LUCKY from the PP to create the title! Says " I May NOt Be Irish, Bit I sure Am LUCKY"

NEW Cupcake and Baked Goodies Whimsy Jar SWAP!!!

Hey gals- I started a new Cupcake and Baked Goodies Whimsy Jar SWAP!!! Here is the linky : http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/mb.asp?cmd=display&thread_id=2753893 . Come and join us... it is a paired swap so the number of swappers in "infinite" !!! JK... but it can be a bit more than a swap that you would be actually making one for each person.
Here is an example of a whimsy jar from a swap I did in the summer.

I did different themed whimsy jar swaps, this example above was an anything goes so I did it Florida themed... so fun! This new swap is obviously cupcakes and baking!!!! Check out the link to come join us!

:) Rachel

Look what I woke up too....

My little sweetie, actually he is the biggest one, made us all breakfast this morning. Initially, I was not too thrilled at 6AM getting a breakfast wake up call, I worked last night and got off at 1AM! I was tired. Johnny came in the room all excited, he made John cinnamon raisin toast, Zach, Nick and himself Cocoa Pebbles and me a tall glass of OJ (the boy knows Mama does not like breakfast!). Everyone had an icy glass of OJ, napkins and a sweet love note from our little chef! Great start to a beautiful day :)
I hope you all had as great a start as I did!

Madison's Pagent

So yesterday we went to Madison's pagent, after many weeks of preperation, we were excited to cheer her on! She is a special friend of the boys and her Mom is a great friend of mine, we would not miss it for the world.

Madison was #11 out of 220 girls. Johnny, Zach and I sat through 220 girls for casual and formal wear- that is 440 turns... a looooooooooooong evening!

I quickly learned that my vision of the well rounded beauty is NOT the judges. I think the next pagent the boys and I go to to cheer our sweet Princess on at, I will carry some extra glasses and drop them off at the judges table!!!!!!!!!

Surly, I am not biased ;)
