Thanks A Latte - Coffee Themed Bouquet

This was one of the most enjoyable gifts I have created in a  long time!  No seriously, I was cracking up every time I found a new coffee sign to put in arrangement!
I cleaned out the two espresso cans I had in the pantry and by that I mean, opened then brand new cans, poured them in a Tupperware and rinsed the cans!
I printed out the CUTEST coffee gift card holder from here : http://www.box.net/shared/1bry1y4q0o
All of the other images were found thru my Google search for coffee signs.  There are plenty of funnies out there but then again, these are for my son's teachers!  They have a great sense of humor but I wouldn't want to cross the line!  I bought (on behalf of the entire class with part of the donation I collected) each of them two $10 gift cards to Starbucks, a Via iced coffee packet and biscotti.
Thanks for stopping by!

Teacher Appreciation Week - Day 4

I hope you are all enjoying your week thus far!  And here we are on Day 4 of Teacher Appreciation Week and the 4th gift idea thanks to another free printable I found on the web!
How cute and useful is this... lunch!  Campbell's soup with a homemade label!
Free Image found here : http://cinnamonrosecottage.blogspot.com/2010/05/ideas-for-teacher-appreciation-week-any.html  - I modified it a bit.  And made a label for the tie on the gift package I plan to make.
I left the original soup label on underneath so the teachers can see what soup they are eating and read the label if they chose to!
I purchased cans of Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup and Tomato Soup (I wanted a variety for the 5 teachers) and individually wrapped crackers at my local grocery store- Publix.
Yellow soup bowls, brand new spoons and red and white dish towels from Dollar Tree.
And wrapped in celephane with a pretty little yellow ribbon!
And once again... five teachers = five gifties!
This is probably my favorite gift thanks to free printables that I have found!
I put my own spin on it, as I love making gift baskets!!!

Teacher Appreciation Gift Idea - Day 3

Welcome to Day Three of my free Teacher Appreciation week printable finds and my take on them!
For this project idea, I started with this sleek image I found here : http://www.cottage-industrialist.com/blog/category/printables?currentPage=5  - I believe this printable was intended as a card.  But in the world of crafters and DIY-er's ... we modify and alter everything!   My spin on this free printable was a tumbled marble coaster :)
It can be used to hold an icy bottle of water or sit on a shelf with other mementos in the classroom.  I know my third graders teachers like to display their gifts on a set of shelves.  It is kinda like a trophy case of love and affirmation!   In fact, they have many gifts on display from my family as my fourth grader also had them last year!
My plan for gift giving is to tie them with a simple bow from twine and a mechanical pencil.
All packed and ready - with a pretty little medallion (since we already established a few weeks back I had an odd addiction to making them!!!)
And by all - I mean ... FIVE!
See you tomorrow for Day Four!

Teacher Appreciation Week - DAY 2

Welcome to Day Two of Teacher Appreciation Week  (running thru May 2 - May 6th) !
Look at this fun, simple and stunning free printable I found ...
Here is the funtabulous website I downloaded the printable and idea from : http://domesticatedlady.com/2011/teacher-appreciation-day-1-note-holder/
This particular blogger included a sage green and peach download!
She has a ton of great ideas... CHECK HER OUT!
I did change up the frame because Old Time Pottery and Dollar Tree did not have acrylic frames :(   I figured the black frame was sleek and classy.  And my own spin to another crafters clever project!
I purchased the black frames and sticky note pads from Dollar Tree.  I had the corresponding color clips in my scrap stash as well as the sheer white ribbon.  Such an affordable gift at about $1.25 a piece.  And, yes, I made 5 for each of the boys teachers!

The begining of Teacher Appreciation Week - Day 1

It's that time of year again, parents!  Teacher Appreciation Week  is May 2 - May 6th... a fabulous way to honor and celebrate your teachers.  You know, the honorable men and women that spend more time with our kids than we do on a daily basis, the ones that nurture them, that instruct them, that help them become our future ... yeah, those people!  Why not shower them with little token of your appreciation?
Personally, I did something I have never done... I Googled (and Pintrest-ed) free printables and came up with these great gift idea.  I wanted to show you how I put the printables into action!
I found this site ....  http://www.itsybitsypaperblog.com/2011/04/teacher-appreciation-download.html  and  fell in love with this idea, simple, affordable and endearing.
Between my three kids, they have 5 primary teachers.... forget about their gifted teachers and the specialists for Art, PE, Music and Library!  I will cover them at the end of the year :)

Nifty 50's Sock Hop

Teacher Appreciation Luncheon! Yay, done! I am so glad it is O*V*E*R!!! I was the PTA Chairperson for the entire week of TA Week events. I worked really hard planning this particular event . And I had a team of three hard working ladies that did anything I asked of them and stepped up when others did not want to be bothered. Olive Garden donated 7 jumbo salads and 100 bread sticks. We then purchased the main entree from them since they generously earned our business! Let me add that the lasagna was the meatiest and tastiest I have ever had, other than my own. It was a true unexpected surprise. I was very impressed by their lasagna and that it is pretty hard to impress me, food wise! Our local grocery store, Publix, donated all of the delicious desserts for the teachers! My 3 fabulous committee members! They truly were work horses! Willing to do anything that needed to be finished for the luncheon. I never had to ask them to pick something up and do it, I never had to ask for a cooler leak to be mopped, I didn't have to remind them to go out and pick up our lunch order, I didn't have to ask them to clean up and I didn't have to remind them a thousand times before the big event to be at the school on time! They were a dream come true! And I truly appreciated all their help :)And my little squirt, who just could NOT resist monkeying around with the guitar and the juke box! He is such a good sport, tags along with me for everything I volunteer for and never complains other than being hungry!

Ok, tomorrows event is a little snack bag with granola bars and water bottles... I'm ready!
TFR!

Preparing for Teacher Appreciation Week

May 3-7 is the week we honor and pamper our teachers. My PTA and I take this even very serious. We make sure the teachers enjoy a week full of fun events! I enjoy knowing I am a part of the big picture.
Our theme is YOU KNOCK OUR SOCKS OFF so we are giving all 85 teachers and certified teacher staff a funky pair of socks!!!

I am the PTA chair for Teacher Appreciation Week and have 2 great girls on my committee (yes, just 2... I am not such a good delegator, rather do it all myself!).
I planned a continental breakfast that is almost entirely donated by Starbucks; coffee and sweeteners, our local fruit stand called Collins Fruit Market; as much fruit and Mums I cared to ask for to make a scrumptious fresh fruit salad and Dunkin Donuts who are giving me 2 dozen and a discount on the remaining 4 dozen. SweetBay grocery store donated a $30 gift card that I will be using to purchase juice!
We scheduled a week of gift give-aways, baskets, presents and gift bags donated by generous parents and the PTA.
A 50's themed luncheon on Wednesday which is a half day, so they will be able to sit down and enjoy the lunch instead of running back to their class room with it! Olive Garden generously donated 7 jumbo salads and 100 bread sticks, we are purchasing 5 lasagnas. Dessert from Publix. I bought about 30 records from our local thrift store and made some neato centerpieces... you will have to wait until the event to see the final product! Records will be hanging from the ceiling!!! Let's just say it also involves all this candy (some generously donated by Walgreens and the rest the PTA purchased)

^^^ This is the staging area for both the breakfast on Monday and Wednesday's luncheon!
